Zoning Information

Alderman Stone is working to eliminate crime by creating more jobs, eliminating blighted areas and attracting more businesses to the community. Below is an update of some of the new projects that are planned for our neighborhood.

Devon Avenue and Artesian Street
The building on the southwest corner will result in commercial use on the first floor and three floors of condos with parking for each condo above the commercial building. This mixed-use building will break ground this fall.
New Townhouse Development Coming to the 50th Ward
The Christian Science Church, on the 6300 block of North Sacramento Avenue, will be replaced with a new townhouse development that will include parking for each townhouse.
The 6300 Block of Western Avenue
The Northtown Theater will be demolished and replaced by a multi-used building which includes condos, shopping and parking. The six level building will bring added shopping choices and more parking to the neighborhood.
2500 Block of Devon Avenue
The 2500 Block of Devon will be re-zoned to allow construction of a new building with commercial on the first floor and five stories of mixed use condos as well as parking for all the condos. This will be on the site of the building that was destroyed by fire last Thanksgiving Day.
Albion Subdivision
There is a new proposal to change the subdivision from expensive single family homes to moderately priced townhouses. There will also be a seven story senior building built in the subdivision.
California and Granville
The Aldi site at California and Granville will soon be demolished and rebuilt with a new store that includes enclosed parking on the 2nd floor.
Warren Park Senior Center
The Chicago Department of Aging and Alderman Stone have worked hard to bring the West Ridge Satellite Senior Center in Warren Park. The center will have fitness classes, computer classes, health screenings and much more. This was presented at a public meeting July 17th.
